Masha is a Speech Language Pathology (SLP) graduate student in Austin, Texas. Her name is often mistaken as being Amasha because of the “uh” she adds when introducing herself as a way to make the fluency better. Masha hopes to work in speech therapy and like many other SLP students, hopes to use her past experience as a stutterer to transcend through the work she does with future patients. Though Masha’s stuttering is only apparent when she reads in Russian, she still sees her childhood struggle as an important factor to better relate with people who still stutter.
