In 2008 Allen ran for City Council and spent about $3000 on
his campaign, which is not much compared to his opponent, Lee Leffingwell. Allen felt that he needed to run for City Council because he didn’t agree with some of their decisions and wanted to have fun with it. He received a lot of praise on some of his campaign posters, which were created by creative close friends. Though he didn’t win the election, Allen was put in charge of the Urban Transportation Commission for five years and worked on public transportation issues. “I can definitely see myself running for City Council again when I’m a little older and when I have more money”, Allen said.
