When my family gets together we talk about religion, football, and politics. The people of rural Missouri are defined by which church you go to, what team you root for, and whether you get your news from CNN or FOX. The cultural identity of this state is supported by these ideals and I have chosen to make relationships with people and participate in these ideologies. My work is not about individuals but about the need to belong.
